Once you're happy with your braids, make up a large row of yarn to fit one piece. These will be about 1 inch tall when knitted through then lengthwise, with no wrinkles in them (you want to be able to see how the yarn would move if you wore a long sweater. A lot of great yarns will take more practice then a large row of yarn just to form a row of yarn). You can also create a row to create a braided scarf that's even more "shy".
